This amused my little inner econ geek.<br \/>\nPersonally, I agree more with Hayek, even if <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0226320553\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=0226320553&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=briarhenge-20\">The Road to Serfdom<\/a> was a bit of a slog to get through.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m tempted to go into a long winded post about the perceived vs. real effects of Keynesian policies, but that would require digging up graphs and links to help illustrate the mess. I don\u2019t have the time for that right now.<\/p>\n<p>Anyways, it all boils down to Control (Keynes) and Freedom (Hayek). Unfortunately, Freedom, by it\u2019s very nature, is anathema to those who make their living by drafting laws and regulations. It\u2019s rather like a perverse application of the office attitude. If the lawmakers and regulators aren\u2019t making laws and regulations, then they are perceived as nonproductive. There are so many cases of either ignoring the adage \u201cIf it ain\u2019t broke don\u2019t fix it\u201d or that the attempted solution, while full of good intentions, ends up causing more harm than doing nothing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Keynes vs. Hayek.
